Fujifilm X-T3 — Making it Right

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Pre-Photokina race is getting hot! Today Fujifilm presented highly anticipated X-T3, APS-C model of their top T-line…

Unlike the Canon, Nikon and Sony, Fujifilm nailed their mirrorless line just as it should be from the beginning. So now they can do an incremental evolution fully listening to their users and polishing their products through solving complaints. And above all, comparing it to X-T2, they have lowered the entry price of the new X-T3…

Fujifilm made improvements in practically every aspect of this camera making it very desirable machine for video production, comparing very well to Panasonic DC-GH5. Here is Jordan Drake of dPreview.com with his new love:

So, is it worth to invest in an APS-C system when all the big corporations go FF mirrorless? Absolutely. Fuji has made an impressive system with a dream control layout, superb picture quality and brilliant optics. Just look at the first impressions conclusion of the dPreview team:

At a time when Nikon, Sony and Canon are trying to push enthusiasts into their full frame mirrorless systems, Fujifilm is providing a credible alternative for photographers who don't want the cost or weight of that format. And, with both a 33mm F1.0 (50mm F1.5 equiv,) and 200mm F2 (300mm F3 equiv) on the roadmap, there will be ways to minimize the difference.

For a lot of people, myself included, the APS-C format lends itself to offering a well-rounded range of video and stills capabilities. And with the X-T3, it's possible that Fujfilm has released the camera to wrestle-away the D500's APS-C crown.

Taking the APS-C crown from the nikon D500? Can’t imagine better compliment 😊

Everything I'm hearing about the X-T3 is very positive, it's making it very tempting. maybe I need to stop buying glass and upgrade.

Depends on what glass do you already have, @harveyword :)

Another jewel... tempted to sell my X-T20 for this new one, very impressive tech. spech.

If it had fully articulated screen, I would buy it in a hartbeat, @cesmak… and keep my X-T20 as a backup :)

Yes, the display movement only on two axes is the only small problem on this X-T series, that can affect your shots in some particular situation, i normally use the viewfinder, so is rare a case where the limited movements of the display will affect me.

It should be noted that they were able to offer $100 cheaper price against the original XT 2 by moving the manufacturing from Japan to China. No more Made in Japan label.

X-T3 will be manufactured in China, but there will be more Fuji cameras from Japan, @gansekirock. They are not going to close their Sendai factory now that demand is on a rise :)

Thanks for the addition.

Good to know thanks. I will be seriously considering purchasing the XT3 in the coming weeks. Waiting for more news from Photokina.
