The Thousand Island is definitely a nice place to visit and with some great history. Boldt Castle was built by George Boldt (he managed the Waldorf Astoria in New York City) for his wife. She died in 1904, before it was finished, and he just abandoned it. It has been restored and is being improved so that future generations can enjoy George Boldt's vision.
I would advise everyone to go visit 1000 Islands. Wonderful place for family, friends and couples!!
