There are some jobs that are harder than others, and these are some. Hard by the nature of the work, hard by the arduousness of the task, hard by the conditions, and hard for the associated salary. Yes, seeing these workers work gives a bit of humility back to our daily fatigues. In the first photograph, a sand-stripper. For several hours he will hold a pressure lance spitting sand on marine metal parts to strip them. The dust is permanent, outside it’s more than 30°... In the second photograph, a painter on his scaffolding. At rudder height here, it will be 15m higher soon after with the same safety equipment. Finally, in the third photograph, a stripper has just been replaced and is blowing a little before resuming. If only the task were compensated for its hardness...
