This is an elephant that originated from the city of Lampung and sebahagian of the elephant is schooled Thai country.

The Sumatran elephant is also a subspecies elephant of the Asian elephant elsewhere in the island of Sumatra. Sumatran elephants are smaller than the elephant subspecies of India. The population is declining and becoming a highly threatened species.

Elephants in the city of Lampung is an elephant that was built to be displayed at the event contest or at the place of entertainment. But the elephants that live in this garden are hundreds of elephants trained.
The elephant life is now around 2000 to 2500 Sumatran elephants left in the wild based on a survey in 2000. As many as 60% of Sumatran elephant populations disappear from human death, and 32% are likely to be killed by poisoning by humans. About 70% of Sumatran elephant habitats have become plantation areas due to aggressive encroachment. Sumatran elephants also often descend to farming farmers to damage their gardens. There is a possibility that elephants often go berserk because of the act of man himself.

Sumatran elephants are the largest mammals in Indonesia, weighing up to 6 tons and growing as high as 3.5 meters on the shoulders. The pregnancy period for Sumatran elephant infants is 22 months with an average age of up to 70 years.

Here are some photos that were displayed when I was at the pet zoo petrol town of Lampung in 2010.

This giant animal is very intelligent and has a larger brain compared with other land mammals. The large enough ears can help the elephant hear well and help reduce body heat. His trunk is used to get food and water by holding or gripping the edges that are used like a finger to scoop up.

Elephants have special features, the most striking is the proboscis or proboscis used for many things, especially for breathing, sucking water, and picking up objects. The serial teeth grow into fangs that can be used as weapons and tools for moving objects or digging. The African elephant has bigger ears and a hollowed back, while the Asian elephant's ear is smaller and its back is convex.

Elephants are animals that can be found in various habitats, such as savannas, forests, deserts, and swamps. They tend to be near the water.

Elephants are animals that are considered key species because of their impact on the environment. Other animals tend to keep their distance from elephants, and predators like lions, tigers.

Wild dogs usually attack only young elephants. Female elephants tend to live in family groups, consisting of one female with her children or some females that are associated with their children. This group is led by an elephant individual called the matriarch, which is usually the oldest female.

image
Elephants have a fission-group structure, ie family groups meet to socialize. The male elephant leaves the family after reaching puberty, and will live alone or with other males.

The elephant is the focus of the family group and relies on its mother for about three years. Elephants can live for 70 years in the wild. They communicate through touch, sight, smell, and sound.

Elephants use infrasuara and seismic communications for long distance. The intelligence of the elephant has been compared with the primate intelligence. They seem to have self-awareness and show empathy to other elephants that are almost or have died.
