Two Flowers, One Tree

At least, that's what I thought initially when I saw this tree, but it turned out the red bits are young leaves:

Silly me.

A bonus photo: some forget-me-nots (Myosotis sp.), vergeet-mij-nietjes in Dutch, I found nearby:

^{Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO100, f8, 1/250s}

There are dozens of species of this little plant, and most are native to western Eurasia and New Zealand, with a few species scattered over the Americas and Papua New Guinea. Garden escapees have conquered the rest of the world.
