Beauty In The Demise

Beauty in the demise of things is a theme I always come back to.

Some may feel that it results in photos that are just a morbid scourge on the photography scene, but I beg to differ.

First I seldom go out in search of these shots. I am just usually happily shooting away in nature, and happen upon them

Death and dying is a considerably large part of nature, so as a wanna be photographer, I feel I should incorporate it into my work.

Certainly I have no hand in any of it. I generally just see myself as documenting it.

I am certainly not opposed to bring in a piece I find interesting and experiment with it in the studio.

I cannot explain it properly with words, but there is a sadness that is also accompanied by a last bit of beauty.

Perhaps it is like seeing the ruins of a great city and finding an awe about the civilization and the people that once had created it.

I limited myself to just examples of flowers and trees for this post, however, perhaps next time I will share some buildings and machinery.

I love those! Dried, dead flowers have so much colour in them. I will leave flowers in a vase well past their expiration date just so they dry up like that. They gain so much colour! I'm honestly not sure if I've shared my collection of dried flowers previously, but I might need to do so again.

Love'em! Thanks so much for sharing those!

Well I know I never seen them. Might be a good post idea. Tis the season you know... Thanks for the tip!

Yes, to everything - there is a season! Turn, turn turn. Love the buds in the spring and leaves as they turn different colors from loss of life in the fall.
