Abandoned Shopping Mall -- Somewhere in California ... (Photos)

Hard to believe this was once a place where kids and families hung out and shopped around.

I wanted to share some pics of this place I've captured a few years back since this place is more than just a "dead mall" to me.

Quick background -- this mall was once poppin' in the '80s, started to decline in popularity starting the '90s, and eventually closed down shortly before the end of the second millennium.

Not only is this abandoned, urban area iconic for its art and architecture, it is popular within Hollywood as it's been featured in many films and music videos ... 'Tokyo Drift,' "Rush Hour," Beyonce's "Superpower," and Chris Brown's "Party" feat. Usher & Gucci Mane to name a few.

There are a few obstacles you'll need to hurdle to get inside, and may run into some homeless peeps and stray cats, but it is well worth it. If you get too claustrophobic or start to feel paranoid from the darkness, you can easily take the stairway to the roof to enjoy some sunlight and views.

Defintely don't recommend going in alone or at night ... unless you got a weapon on you for protection!

Always lookin' to talk photos or places to shoot, so feel free to follow/like and comment with any questions.

Thanks,
BM

Great photos, must be a little creepy too explore it, partly dismantled and everything :)

Thanks! Definitely wasn't ideal since we didn't have a flashlight (in certain areas), but I made it out live and it was amazing!

That looks scary! But scary usually means adventurous so I understand why you went in and explored. You got some great shots, thank god it was during the day time though! haha

You're exactly right, Ben! Hard to get great shots sometimes without challenging yourself! Would love to see some shots you've done!
