Haloo sahabat steemit. Nah dipertemuan kali ini saya mau memperkenalkan Asam Sunti. Keanekaragaman kuliner khas Indonesia banyak di acungkan jempol oleh banyak orang dari berbagai negara. Nah ada hal yang membuat mereka tertarik dengan wisata kuliner di Indonesia terutama Aceh . Asam Sunti merupakan salah satu bumbu masak akan tetapi tidak termasuk katagori dalam rempah-rempah.
Asam Sunti sangat sering di padukan dengan rempah lain dalam satu masakan Aceh. Menurut masyarakat Aceh asam sunti merupakan sebuah petunjuk dari Allah SWT kepada para Ẻndatu (sebutan untuk nenek moyang orang Aceh) untuk memanfaatkan dengan sebaik mungkin buah dari pohon belimbing yang berbuah di sepanjang musim agar tidak terbuang sia-sia atau mubazir. Belimbing yang sudah di keringkan ini dapat disimpan dalam waktu sangat lama, ini di karenakan kadar asam dan garam yang tinggi menjadi faktor penghambat bagi perkembangan jamur dan bakteri pengurai.
Sampai saat ini belum dapat diketahui dari Aceh bagian mana asam sunti ini berasal. Dan tidak bisa diragukan lagi bahwa asam sunti ini sudah ada sejak dari dulu dan dipakai dalam masakan Aceh bahkan jauh dari masa kerajaan Aceh menjadi kerajaan lima besar di dunia.
