Dragonfly's wing in macro

The beauty of Dragonfly wings. The shot made in 2016 with Canon EOS 1200D and Canon lens 18-55mm. Yeah, that's was my first lens :)

AMAZING! Fascinating little creatures. Wonder what the filled in colored cell on either side of the wings are for? Eyes - to make him appear bigger?

The filled cell called pterostigma. The functions of the pterostigma have not yet been established, but it is assumed that it is capable of extinguishing the "harmful" fluctuations of the wing during the flight.
