Poem by Adekoya Henry Adetoye.

Nifty, tippy, right, left, right.

Elegant and chic, an outfit to slay.

She walked down the streets of Yorkshire

Elated and Skippy, eyes so far ahead

The road was clear, the fog a’lifting

Finally, dawn was breaking

She was a beauty to behold with a smile as bright as the sun.

With a future brighter still, inchoate but undeniable.

Heads swayed as she passed

But she paid them no heed

The light was undeniable

The blood rushing in her veins

Bodies turned as she passed

Footsteps silently slapping the pavement

On she walked to the flowers fall

Avert your eyes now, darkness beckons
