They were probably in some kind of mating ritual. Arachnids usually have elaborate "dances" or displays when mating. The male's sperm comes from his pedipalps, which are the pair of larger mouthparts which are on either side of the true fangs. In spiders, he deposits a packet on the ground or whatever surface and then the female collects it. I don't know how exactly it works for huntsmen (daddy long legs) but it should be similar since they are a relative of spiders.
