A Whispered Everything

IMG_6801 (2).jpeg

the equinox slides past
shutters across the light
separates and defines
delight and pain

on its way

simultaneously
only for a moment

IMG_6871 (1).jpeg

shadows
grow long

spaghettify
my isolation

but then
stubbornly
shorten again

IMG_6798.jpeg

I thought I knew
what was coming

you didn't tell me
it would take forever
to get here from there

IMG_6869.jpeg

perhaps its is better
to know nothing

clear space and time
to feel something

to finally brush against
a whispered everything

Like toddlers we resist rest and get cranky until we collapse. Simply welcome the rest the same as you welcome the excitement.

You rest, meditate, or sleep when you 'come down' or go for a walk/run in nature. You will create the 'space' in your mind to accommodate the energy found in times of greater action and stimulation.

If on the other hand you believe that heightened states of being must be followed by suffering, and you avoid heightened states of being to avoid suffering, your whole life will become low grade suffering.

That is not balance and this shows in the countenance and lack of vigor/joy in an individual who chooses such a narrow path. The problem is that we have learned to ignore the signals for rest and push through instead.

The master is like a content nation
He governs his thoughts as a leader his people
Ensuring they are given industry and rest

To every day there must be industry
To every day there must be rest

The master allows his thoughts their pleasure
There is no need to strip the countryside bare
A bare countryside cannot nurture the people
An empty mind cannot nurture a master

His thoughts, like people, may be called to travel
Always the call of home, of the Tao, is louder

The master allows what is used
To be carried through and away
He does not fight its going
He does not mourn its loss

There is nothing to fight for
Fighting the Tao will bring suffering
The master loves his thoughts as a benevolent ruler
He would not have them suffer

The master understands
All comes from and returns to the Tao

Reading this touched me deep inside, sparking a smothered fire that was scorched a lifetime ago...

Your way with words should be called a "wordsmith" @prydefoltz
