The region in Goa where the greater part of this occurred was later set apart by developing a sanctuary, devoted to Lord Manguesh. Shiva came to be known as Lord Manguesh due Parvati's words Mam Grisha that remaining parts related with the land and the story. The first area where the sanctuary was constructed is by and by the area of town Cortalim, situated at the south of the Zuari River. It was amid the Portuguese attack that the god was moved Priol, where it stays till this day.
