This is a real building in Danvers, Massachusetts. It was used in several movies and games for how genuinely spooky it is.
Like all things, it started out with the best intentions and great hope, but then didn't go as planned. This hospital and others like it, were home to incredible human rights violations which got them all shut down by the 1990s.
It's an apartment complex now, but what still stands from the original construction is the staff tower and the E and F wings.
