LIGHT PAINTING TUTORIAL: Three-Spiralled Orb

I made a video that shows how I create this three-spiralled light design.

The 'live' light painting on the right of the screen was captured on my phone using an app called 'Pablo'. Tool used here was a blue acrylic tube with an orange M&M's container taped on the end (check out pix of the tool below).

The photo in this video was captured at the Byron Bay Lighthouse a few weeks ago.

Single exposure:
12mm, f/5
ISO-200, 35secs

This is really cool - I loved watching the video! Are you saying the app Pablo takes video shot in the daylight and turned it into that demo? That was really illuminating to watch how you made the orb ;)

Thanks! No, the Pablo (right side) was captured at night in the same spot.

ah okay. Really cool effect having you doing the motions in daylight on the left. Made it so much clearer how you did it. Awesome stuff :)

Thanks for making this tutorial ❤️ light painting is so interesting to me, I just thought it was waaaay out of my league even just to try.

My pleasure :)

It looks deceptively simple, doesn't it. Great demo.

This is really a very good synchronous illustration for the movements. Class! It looks easy, but it definitely isn't unless you practice like you do on a daily basis. Keep it shining dude!

Thanks mate, I was hoping the third spiral would sync up in both vids but alas, it does not due to the fact that I put an extra swirl in the Pablo video on the right. Oh well, I do like how the first two sync beautifully though :)
