How to share your photos on Instagram directly from Lightroom?
Instagram has grown and is now a really appreciate social network. Photographers can show their work to the community. When you directly work on your phone everything is fine but if like me you do work on your computer things are a little bit more complex. Indeed, you’ll have to work in Lightroom, save your work, send it to your phone and finally upload it directly from the Instagram App. That’s not really practical!
Here is the solution: LR/INSTAGRAM PLUGIN!!!
This Lightroom plugin will allow you to publish your pictures on Instagram directly from Lightroom! Isn’t it fantastic ;)
Let me explain you how it works.
A Plugin is an extension for a software that will allow you to add functionalities to the software. This one has been developed by Capture Monkey. The plugin is free to download and use but you can register it for 10$ to support the developer.

Once on your computer just un-zip it.
I recommend putting all your plugins in the same folder so you won’t delete one by mistake.Once you choose the location of your plugin just run Lightroom and go in File > Plugin manager. Click add. Now choose the location of your plugin on your computer and click add plugin.
- Now it should be activated with a green button. If not just go in status and click enable.
- Now go in “Library”, and click on the small “+” next to “Publish services” on the left and select “Go to publishing manager”
- Choose the LR/INSTAGRAM PLUGIN > Add > choose a name > Create.
- Log into your Instagram account and click save.
Upload limit: This option let you choose how many pictures will be upload to Instagram when you click the publish button.
You’re now all set!!!
- For your first upload just add the picture you wish in the Instagram plugin on the left.
Go into the LR/INSTAGRAM PLUGIN and click publish ;)
