One of my favorite parts of living in Los Angeles are the many hiking trails that are part of the city. It's so nice to get outside for a hike/run rather than using a treadmill in the gym. Going up a Griffith Park trail towards the Hollywood Sign will give you this view of the Observatory and downtown:
