The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe or locally known as La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora Guadalupe is a Catholic church located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where I currently am.

The church was built back in the 1930's on the foundation of a chapel that was originally there in 1901. The original chapel was dedicated to Lady Guadalupe. The church has a neoclassical structure with a crown in a baroque style. However, the design of the church wasn't based on any sophisticated designs, it was meant to encapsulate Puerto Vallarta's rustic cityscape from its past. The current crown isn't the original one. The first one eroded and was replaced in 1981 however, back in the 90's an earthquake hit the city and it collapsed. A temporary fiber glass crown stood in its place until 2009 when a Jaliscan artist named Carlos Terres sculptured and rebuilt a replacement.

The church is one of, if not Puerto Vallarta's most known landmark. It's located near the famous Puerto Vallarta sign. It's open daily and has services in English on Saturdays and mass in both Spanish and English on Sundays.

This is one of my favorite places here in Puerto Vallarta. It's a beautiful structure and a big part of PV's history. I see visitors and locals in and around the church everyday. So many people come to the church to take pictures. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in Puerto Vallarta. It's a place you don't want to pass up.
