TheScubaSherpa | Deep Sea Saturday

Good Morning from 133ft under the sea!
DeepSea.jpg
I took this shot while looking up from my deepest dive ever!
This dive was off a wall at Hawksbill Cay in the Bahamas in 2015.

I know it's the weekend, but to get your science on, but we all exist on land at 1 Atmospheric Pressure Layer. I was under 5 Atmospheric Pressures at 133ft and could only stay at that depth for about 3 minutes to avoid Nitrogen build-up and the risk of Decompression Sickness (The Bends).
Colors were also depleted as reds, oranges, yellows, and even greens were absorbed at shallower depths giving way to deeper and deeper blues.

Cool picture! You be careful down there!

What a fabulous picture from a fabulous dive!

Deepest I've ever been is a little over 100ft on my last training dive, many years ago... I'm a big Jaques Cousteau fan.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Thanks! Always good to meet a fellow diver! Glad you've experienced the deep blue too!
Where did you train at?

I trained at a dive shop in San Diego, California. Earned my NAUI and PADI cards some 35+ years ago, if I recall rightly. We did our ocean dives off of La Jolla Shores, where you can go from a beach entry down over the edge of the trench for as deep as you would ever wish to go... ;)

As a fellow diver, you may find this story of mine somewhat interesting:

My Home-Made Aqualung - A True Adventure

Very cool, I've heard good things about that area. There's never a bad day diving. Thanks, I'll check it out!

I think you would enjoy a dive off the north shore of St. Croix...
Especially the Cane Bay Wall. :D
