The tools we use:
Cameras:
- Sony Alpha 300 / Lens 18-70mm
- Nikon Coolpix P520
Lighting:
- 8.6 inch light ring (22 cm)
- Suptig underwater spotlight with 56 leds
Materials:
- Blonde Ale
- One spoonful of sugar
- A slice of lemon
- Ice cubes
Other:
- Flexible 23cms (9 inches) tripod
- Baby tripod that can't hold a smartphone but can hold a slice of lemon
Las herramientas que utilizamos:
Cámaras:
- Sony Alpha 300 / Lente 18-70mm
- Nikon Coolpix P520
Iluminación:
- Aro de Luz de 22cms (8.6 pulgadas)
- Foco submarino Suptig de 56 leds
Materiales:
- Cerveza Blonde Ale
- Una cucharada de azúcar
- Una rodaja de limón
- Cubos de hielo
Otros:
- Tripode Flexible de 23cms (9 pulgadas)
- Tripode bebé que no soporta ni un celular pero si soporta una rodaja de limón
This is a photo without any kind of artificial lighting, just the window light, the photos were early in the afternoon but it looks a little dark because the camera values were already set for artificial lighting.
Esta es una foto sin ningún tipo de iluminación artificial, solo la luz de la ventana, las fotos fueron temprano en la tarde pero se ve un poco oscuro porque los valóres de la camara ya estaban dispuestos para la iluminación artificial.
That's how we use the lighting:
We use the led spotlight as a backlight, bouncing the light off the wall to illuminate the glass and liquid from behind.
Así usamos la iluminación:
El foco led lo usamos a manera de backlight haciendo rebotar la luz en la pared para iluminar el vaso y el líquido desde atras.
The light ring we used to complement the natural lighting of the window, also helped to illuminate the lemon slice.
El aro de luz lo usamos para complementar la iluminación natural de la ventana, también ayudó a iluminar la rodaja de limón.
We placed the camera just a couple of centimeters above the table to create a solid reflection, also to keep the horizon line very low providing height to the glass and balance the final image.
Most of the photos were taken with the Sony Alpha 300 with the following values:
- f/4.5
- 1/200s
- ISO 200
- 18-70 @ 26mm
The photos of the splashes were taken with the Nikon Coolpix P520 in sports scene mode which takes a burst of 30 photos in one second.
La cámara la colocamos a penas un par de centímetros sobre la mesa para crear un sólido reflejo, además, para mantener muy baja la línea del horizonte proporcionandole altura al vaso y balancear la imágen final.
La mayoría de las fotos las hicimos con la Sony Alpha 300 con los siguientes valores:
- f/4.5
- 1/200s
- ISO 200
- 18-70 @ 26mm
Las fotos de las salpicaduras las tomamos con la Nikon Coolpix P520 en el modo de escena de deportes que toma una ráfaga de 30 fotos en un segundo.
Here you can see the 3 photos together, without artificial lighting, only with the led backlight, and then with the led light and the light ring (final lighting).
Acá puedes ver las 3 fotos juntas, sin iluminación artificial, solamente con el foco led de backlight, y luego con el foco led y el aro de luz (iluminación final).
We sacrifice a blonde ale from our "quarantine reserve", we use this one because of its intense yellow color.
The drink is in fact is a Chelada, a Mexican drink made of beer, salt and lemon/lime. It is the small cousin of the Michelada, which is also a classic from the same country but with big differences, this last one is a cocktail with a base of beer to which you add, tomato juice, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper and lemon/lime.
Sacrificamos una cerveza blonde ale de nuestra "reserva cuarentena", usamos esta por su intenso color amarillo.
La bebida protagonista de hecho es una Chelada, una bebida Mexicana de cerveza, sal y limón/lima. Es la prima pequeña de la Michelada, que también es clásica del mismo pais pero con grandes diferencias, esta última es un coctel con base de cerveza a la que se le agrega, jugo de tomate, salsa Tabasco, salsa inglesa, chile en polvo, sal, pimienta y limón/lima.
One of the ingredients of the Chelada is salt, which we do not use, instead we use sugar for having a thicker grain, which in the end did not have a very important role but it was there after all 😂
Uno de los ingredientes de la Chelada es sal, que no usamos, en su lugar usamos azúcar por tener un grano más grueso, que al final no tuvo un papel muy importante pero estuvo allí despues de todo 😂
People say that sometimes "the end justifies the means", well, that's how our table and floor ended after several attempts to capture what we wanted.
Dicen que a veces "el fin justifica los medios", bueno, así terminó nuestra mesa y el suelo después de varios intentos por capturar lo que queríamos.

RE: @fermionico @mballesteros - Y eso que esta fue solo por diversión y para experimentar un poco, las verdaderas fotografías similares para campañas publicitarias llevan hasta dias de trabajo, un montón de equipo humano y tecnológico solo para una imagen... Tanto que a uno se le quitan las ganas 😅
