Since we live in Santiago de Chile 10 months ago we haven't had many opportunities to put ourselves in the shoes of tourists. Naturally, when you emigrate you have to take care of many other more important things.
Even so, a few weeks ago we took a day off to get to know some new place far from the city.
We decided to go to the Concón Dunes, located in the northern part of Valparíso Bay, where the renowned beaches of Viña del Mar and Reñaca are also located, and the best part, just a couple of hours away from the capital.
Desde que vivimos en Santiago de Chile hace 10 meses no hemos tenido muchas oportunidades de ponernos en los zapatos de turistas. Naturalmente, al emigrar uno esta pendiente de muchas otras cosas más importantes.
Aun así, hace algunas semanas nos tomamos un día para salir a conocer algún lugar nuevo y lejos de la ciudad.
Decidimos ir a las Dunas de Concón, la parte norte de la Bahía de Valparíso, donde también están las renombradas playas de Viña del Mar y Reñaca, y lo mejor, a tan solo un par de horas de la capital.
For us, who were born in Venezuela, it reminds us a lot of the Medanos de Coro, they have a lot of similarities, to begin with, both are fields of sand mountains that seem to be there by man's work but in fact they are 100% natural and are hundreds if not thousands of years old there. The Venezuelan medanos are big, you can get lost, but not for long, you just have to walk in any direction and I would say that in a couple of hours you can get civilization.
The Concon Dunes, on the other hand, are small in extension, from the top of any dune you can see the populated area of Concon, the access road, and also a spectacular view of the entire bay.
Para nosotros, que nacimos de Venezuela, nos recuerda muchísimo a los Médanos de Coro, tienen mucha similitud, para empezar, ambos son campos de montañas de arena que parecen estar allí por obra del hombre pero que de hecho son 100% naturales y tienen cientos si no miles de años allí. Los medanos Venezolanos son grandes, puedes llegar a perderte, pero no por mucho, solo basta con caminar en cualquier dirección y diría que en un par de horas puedes conseguir civilización.
Por otro lado las Dunas de Concon, son pequeñas en extensión, desde el tope de cualquier duna puedes ver la zona poblada de Concon, la calle de acceso, y además una vista espectacular de toda la bahia.
We played a good time in the dunes, well, a couple of hours, from there we began to feel like a barbecue, although the wind and the atmosphere of the area is quite cool, even becomes cold if you're in the shade, but in the sun, with the reflection of the sand and moisture in the air, can be very hot.
Jugamos un buen rato en las dunas, bueno, un par de horas, a partir de allí ya empezabamos a sentirnos como en una barbacoa, a pesar de que el viento y el ambiente de la zona es bastante fresco, incluso llega a ser frio si estas a la sombra, pero bajo el sol, con el reflejo de la arena y además la humedad en el aire, puede llegar a sentirse mucho calor.
With this publication we participate in two photography contests that debut in Hive, firsto one is @qurator Photo Quest with a MINIMALIST theme, and @derangedvisions, Deranged Photography Contest with a SOLO theme.
Both themes goes along together perfectly and in any of the contests there is a "don't kill two birds with one stone" rule so here is this post 😜
The contests are completely open to the public so we invite you to participate as well.

Ambos temas van juntos perfectamente y en ninguno de los dos concursos hay una regla de "no matar dos pájaros de un tiro" así que aquí está este post 😜
