I am often pleasantly surprised by the abundance of macro photography subjects you can find if you just pick up your camera and go look for them. I usually wouldn't think twice about a fly like this, I would simply move on looking for something else. This time however I thought I would get close and snap some images of this fly on these bright green stalks and I must admit I was pretty pleased with effect.
Often the smallest inhabitants of the natural world are easily overlooked but there is nothing like owning a good macro lense to open your eyes. Since I have started macro photography I have discovered a wealth of information and pleasure I had previously overlooked.
