This is the reason why I love Rome, it is surrounded by many churches. One of them is Sant’Anselmo all’Aventino. This Catholic church is located on the Aventine Hill, right next to the Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta where the Knights of Malta Keyhole was situated — I will be featuring as well the the Knights of Malta Keyhole on my next post. Going back to the church, it was built at the end of the 19th century by the architect Francesco Vespignani. The area where the church was built, had been donated to the monks by the Knights of Malta, in whose name the piazza is dedicated. This church is famous because during Sunday mass, the monks, who live in the convent beside the church, sing beautiful Gregorian chants, surprising the tourists and enchanting everyone.
