And about self voting...
When you self vote within first 15min your mana gets punished... So don't self vote for first 15min...this is as simple as it can get.
And when you vote someone in first 15 min, upto 80% of the payout reward goes to steem reward pool instead of the beneficiary... So if you want to reward someone completely vote after 15min too. This is a real concern when upvoting comments as comments usually require more dynamic engagement than blog posts.

So if we upvote post or comment after the first 15 minutes people will be okay? I am so concerned for those who really need the little they earn on steemit. That was why I used to get upset at bots that would downvote them. It was the first time I ended up flagging...I flagged the bot until it had no reputation left.
I will test this out on one of my comments later and see what happens. Thanks for the information. I have tried reading on all of this but it is scattered all over the place instead having a definite list.
Yeah wait at least 15 min.... That's the easiest way to proceed...
