Destroyed Lunar Outpost!

in #photography6 years ago

Here is a shot from a visit to the decimated lunar outpost. The decaying and twisted metal footings are all that remain after an explosion from a nearby oxygen generation plant had totally destroyed this luckily unpopulated structure. As can be seen, the American flag in far background is standing tall as a testament to our support and pledge to rebuild it. The impact from the blast has contorted and mangled the metal as well as flash-oxidized (rusted) its surface in a spectacular fashion which makes it appear decades old! It was a truly remarkable site to visit and I hope to visit it again once the new base has been constructed.

Reality: I took this shot visiting an old exploded flour mill, but the lighting and contrast really make this photo appear like it was taken on the moon!

Thank you! This was the only one from the mill that looked like it was on the moon.

Photography is a way to capture a moment and freeze it in a way that humanity can always observe it. It always amaze me how emotion is transmitted through an image.
