Cheeky Seagulls

in #phototalent5 years ago (edited)

In any coastal city there are many Seagulls around. These seagulls at Hillaries Harbour in Australia where particularly pesty in that they actually tried to take the food off your plate. They sit on the tables and circle around your table waiting to strike at any moment. Some of the restaurants actually supply a bottle of water with which to spray them as a deterrent, this particular restaurant however did not offer that service. The staff also warn you to watch your food, and as soon as you have finished eating the staff will remove your plate. Here are a few photos of the gulls around our table.

The birds can be brazen in some areas, so true! Even at the park near my work, the pigeons would walk right up to people to see if they'd get some food thrown at them, hahaha...

Very nice photos, @claudiaz <3 I like the one where the seagull seems like saying, "Heyyyyyyy!!!"

unfortunately humans teach them this @veryspider, and the bread is really not good for them! but they are cute even the pigeons

Nice idea that bird detergent :)
Here in my country, we have the same problem with seagulls but I've never seen that spray before.

its such a good idea an totally harmless, but it does keep them at bay because they learn very fast @rafaeleff15

Oh gosh yes... seagulls are just so audacious and such characters in Australia. Nice captures.

thanks @artemislives, indeed they are but I love seagulls and cant get enough of photographing them! hahaha

Oh, that's amazing. I had not heard something like that. I know that seagulls walk on the beaches and usually fish their food at sea, this is new for me. It's amazing that they eat people's food.

its easy for them but of course not healthy @mirla33, so one should really not feed them because they may become sick!

They are so pretty! I'm a fan of when the birds come by while I'm trying to eat. I'm one of the worst - I encourage them!

#powerhousecreatives

they are cute when they are little bird, but these gulls are not so little and it can be a little intimidating when they keep circling your table and you have 20 others watching every bite you take, hahaha @mattifer! however I really enjoyed the experience and got may really cool close up photos of them.

It could be worse:

I love the "aim responsibly" text. Yeah, gulls can be a bit obnoxious.

hahaha, they certainly can @viking-ventures, although I really enjoyed it, lots of photo opportunities!

Cheeky, into fast food so totally unhealthy, seagulls learn quite quickly, are not scared of humans. Pity they becoming more brazen, humans normally start the problem then try find ways to overcome what they have created.

Lovely photo story @caludiaz

yes i agree 100% thats the problem and now they become a nuisance, but they are still beautiful as well as cute. I love seagulls @joanstewart

I've some across these in lots of European cities too. Between these and the pigeons it can be hard to relax but I've never seen the spray before. Handy little idea.

They are nice models, but I hate em. Like rats with wings. Ok that would be pigeon ..

hahaha, I like them even though they are pesty

I love the eco- friendly bird defender LOL

yes I thought it was a very clever idea and it works well @mariannewest

We don't see them around here, they look beautiful! Must be hungry!

No @joelai they are just lazy and human food is easier to get, hahaha

Hahaha... That might be true as well @claudiaz!

Very nice character shots!!!

Ha! that's crazy - those brazen birds!
It did allow you to take some fabulous photos though!

they make good models and they sit nice and still @porters, thanks for visiting

They look very pretty, but I would be really pissed if they stole my food xD NO ONE CAN TOUCH MY FOOD (i'm one of those persons) hahaha

Wonderful closeups of the seagulls! Love those shots! 😃
