That video has been going around for awhile. He wasn't actually doing Sokushinbutsu, that's just a rumour that got started by people who saw the video.

That said, yeah, Sokushinbutsu. Sounds like a pretty strange thing to want to do. Humans can be pretty strange. But whatever floats your boat, eh?
