RE: A Forwarding Note

@forkyishere @ydaiznfts

I am sorry the rising star community is being hit from multiple angles right now.

Brofund ended up being some type of scam. Ray went insane and had some "master plan" that blew up and everything collapsed.

The whole thing was ridiculous.

That being said, I need to vote with my heart and not based on a personal grudge.

I will admit I am still angry, but also I think it is wrong to enable someone that continues to hurt themselves. Someone with Rays mental issues should not be in such a stressful situation.

Sorry again the community is getting caught up in this but I don't have any good options here; I can do nothing, or I can do something. I will do something.

I have to do what I believe is right, even if people get mad at me and it's hard.

Once I hit my goal of 200k HP today I will be following brofund and downvoting that content it is curating.

Brofund ended up being some kind of scam. Ray went crazy and had a "master plan" that backfired, and everything collapsed.

Regarding the #BRO token, I haven't the slightest idea. I don't understand anything about this fight/debate or attack they had. If you could explain it more or tell me where I can find out more, I'd appreciate it. But getting back to what I do know, I think the community shouldn't have to pay the price for the actions of powerful people fighting for power. That's my opinion. And of course, vote and choose with your heart, and I understand that people might be angry with you, even though it's a "hive" where downvoting is allowed. You also have to understand that those who truly strive to create or simply receive rewards from other sources are the first to fall, while friends of those at the top do the same and line their pockets.

And honestly, 200k HP is a good goal. I hope you use it for "good," although the concept of "good" is debatable. Users like the ones I'll mention here aren't to blame for what happened, because, in short, and without any intention—I repeat... (NO INTENTION OF STARTING A FIGHT WITH ANYONE)—the same thing happens in online games and other areas.

You can message me on Discord if you like; maybe we can connect better that way. You can find me with the same username as on Hive.

Me liking what I like or disliking what I like is my opinion.

If I am a free person. I should be able to like what I like, and dislike what I like, and I don't owe anyone anything.

Message me on Discord if you want:

I don't have discord 🤷‍♂

We'll talk here then :)

@hurtlocker If your goal is to eliminate the curation rewards for the Brofi account, there's no need to attack the Rising Star community by subtracting legitimate votes from other curators, consequently affecting other users.

You could adjust your vote to remove the 0.24 cents that account votes for. This way, you achieve your goal and save your voting power. If you always vote 100%, you'll quickly run out of votes and affect innocent users and curators.

You win. They win.

Won't change much, unfortunately, because when he votes, he always gets something back. And if he knows how to vote, he will always win.

That is because the rewards are distributed. So even if one downvotes a post 1 HIVE, to counter another upvote of a specific account of 1 HIVE too... the 1 HIVE that is being removed is from everyone... hence, depending on total post value, it might be irrelevant.

@forkyishere You're right, the only way to do it would be to completely eliminate the rewards of everyone voted by the Brofi account, which is impossible and unsustainable. It would end up affecting hundreds of innocent people, and in the long run, it would only harm the ecosystem itself.

The Brofi account is connected to a curation trail; it doesn't vote manually—at least in the case of the community we're talking about. It's quite possible that Mr. Ray doesn't even know he left that account linked to a Rising Star trail.

But anyway, everyone is free to vote as they wish, though there are always consequences—good or bad. Mass voting against users who have nothing to do with a dispute between investors is harmful to the ecosystem.

Imagine if Mr. Hurtlocker @hurtlocker manages to power up enough to completely eliminate users' earnings just because Brofi voted for them.

What would happen? That would damage all the curation projects where Brofi's account is connected. Within weeks, there would be chaos in the communities and possibly people leaving Hive out of frustration.

The Rising Star community doesn't deserve this. I also fight abuse, and I've done so massively with hundreds of reports per month to Hivewatchers, but I've always done it—and will continue to do it—with a flexible mindset. I prefer to give a warning before pulling the trigger.

Good luck to everyone, and good luck to Mr. Hurtlocker @hurt-locker with his project. If he knows how to use it, it could be a great help to the ecosystem. He could even create a website where people can send reports of abuse or similar issues.

But he must avoid becoming the abuser himself.

Totally removed from the brofi thing for a second, I would like to see better posts.

I’m having a hard time believing anyone actually reads all these posts because they are all super redundant.

Also, where you going with this, trying to be an oracle or something.

Don't give me any ideas 😆

@hurt-locker 😂😂 It's good to take things with humor, I like that.

Just see me as a friend who wants the best for everyone. You'll see me in your posts, but never to attack you. Only to give my opinion, that's the good thing about comments, right? Feedback for everyone.

And if I give you ideas, it's for your benefit and for others. If you ever create a reporting website, I'll collaborate too.

Well, friend, take care.

For sure man. That’s really what all this is. I want to power up more hive and I want people’s opinions so I can take them into consideration as I do things.

I’m not sure I agree with the consensus on upvotes and downvotes. Both are tools to curate in my mind.

If I have more stake, I should be able to influence the kind of content I see. People who post stuff I like, should be able to get something out of it.

That’s how it works.

If I can’t curate the kind of content I want with my stake then this whole thing is a bunch of nonsense.

Either HP is valuable, or it isn’t.

To me it seems valuable. Most people don’t think it is, so they sell it. That’s ok, it’s their money they can do what they want.

But the reward pool is not free. We pay for it through inflation which causes the token price to go down.

If people are writing things they don’t like for projects they don’t care about, yea, they are going to dump it. And they should be able to.

If people write about things they really cherish, they are more likely to appreciate the HIVE they received and use it to curate content they want to see too, in my opinion.

And maybe one day they too can became a whale? Is it probable? No. Is it possible? Sure!

I should be able to do what I want with my stake. Just like everyone else. We are all free.

And if I can’t do what I want with my stake. What is the point of any of this?

Ok. Thanks for the feedback. I will try that out!

Unfortunately, in my view, he might achieve more (from the outcome he is generating) than get fewer rewards by the downvoting of the content he votes for.

And that's because all others voting for the same content will generate a much larger sentiment of "oh crap, what have I done now"...

People will mostly not understand why they are getting downvotes, and if he chooses to keep curating the largest voted posts, people watching it will probably never see things and revolt against whoever is downvoting instead.

This already happened with many other accounts in the past.

Either way, he will always win rewards, that's my point. And there is no real way to "prevent" it, while he has a stake. Obviously, if he authors, then the thing changes.

It is the only thing you can do (and I understand that) to reduce his rewards, but I doubt it will affect him. It would only affect him if we all agreed on getting posts reduced to zero.

But then, lots of people would get impacted, because he would keep choosing randomly voted posts with lots of value. Again, affecting the community in general more than being "affected" himself.

A real problem to think about... indeed.

That's why I love this chain!

Maybe time will curate things... let's see. Not trying to convince you to do anything about this, just being transparent about how I see things.

Cheers

Tick Tock Hurt. The ultimatum I gave you wasn't a joke.

You either dump shiteaters and enjoy abundance.

Or not.

You know you feel the pull.
