Freewrite: No Feeling

in #pimp3 years ago

Thanks to @vaynard86, I recently discovered a community of freewriters here on Hive, led by @mariannewest. Freewriting is something I haven't done in decades. Today they celebrated an amazing milestone: 2000 days of 5-minute freewrite posts! So I decided to join them. I don't know how often I'll participate, but I do think it'd be good to do some writing without overthinking it once in a while. Today's topic is No Feeling. Let's see where this goes...

It started with no feeling. Not bad. Just not much either way.

Well, maybe not zero feeling, but little enough. I liked the guy, I guess; he was smart, witty, and made good conversation. We had a few things in common, and both loved Mexican food. So it was a start.

But really? If it had ended after that first date, I wouldn’t have thought much about him after. No feelings about it at all.

It didn’t, though. Even if it wasn’t feeling that kept us both coming back, there was something there. We also happened to have our first date right before the beginning of the pandemic lockdown. A time when everyone was clinging to those they felt even a little connection to, because people were dying all around. That probably had something to do with it.

Bonus for us: we both worked from home, and had few other social contacts, so we were “safe” for each other. Much less chance of catching the ‘Rona than dating folks who worked out in the open world.

So we continued getting together, mostly picking up takeout each week, and eating at his place, followed by fun and movies. And what started out with almost no feeling at all, blossomed into a three-year relationship with no end in sight. Not bad. Not bad at all.

aw, I loved this! It really is incredible how true love can blossom from very little, and building on friendship can be the very best thing. I need to do more freewriting myself. I drop into Marianne's prompts from time to time. The best one I ever did... as in enjoyed the most... was a weekend triple prompt. Such fun!!! I also use the Most Dangerous Writing site when I do free writes !LOLZ Scary stuff because you have to write nonstop for 5 minutes and if you stop, the site erases everything 😱😂!LUV !ALIVE !hivebits

@willendorfia! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @samsmith1971. (3/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

I guess I'm a little slow to love these days, but I'm so glad that this friendship has blossomed into much more.

Thank you for the tips on other freewriting prompts! I don't think I could do that one that puts you under the threat of erasure, though. I would probably use the prompt and write it out in a different word processing app, because I do sometimes stop to think. Especially when there's a certain word I want, it doesn't always come to me immediately. It would be heartbreaking to have to start over because of something silly like that.

Actually, the person who helped me pretty it up with the beautiful graphics is someone you know well. I'm forbidden to say who, but you might recognize them as sharing a name with a fish. 😁 Thanks for the love!

Love this and sometimes a no feelings relationship can bloom into the best thing 😊
I am glad you found the freewrite and I haven't done it in years but I always felt like a idiot as sometimes I didn't know what the prompt meant and after making my version of it I read others posts and realized I wasn't even close to right 😂 Hahahaha
But I had fun. And worst was one time the prompt was "The smell within" and ofcourse I made a complete fart post.

But you sure write well and sometimes we don’t really know what it is that made us keep seing each other without the FEELING But there is Something there and it makes you keep seing him.
It usually is a sign that that something is a special connection.

Stay YOU sis and much love to You 🤗💋❤️🤗

The point of a freewrite prompt is to write about whatever it brings to YOUR mind. There really isn't a way to do it wrong, except maybe not writing at all.

Now I gotta go looking for that fart post, because that is gonna make my day. 🤣

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog again, beautiful sister!
