Exponential Value
DPoS (e.g. Steemit/Hive/EOS) wasn’t designed to be a standalone blockchain solution. It facilitates bridges.
Early applications were concerned with improving social media. Communities developed around people interested in crypto and related technologies. DPoS is about empowering self-expression. It’s practicality and adaptability has been resilient in supporting solutions for cross-chain applications.
ENTANGLED CRYPTOCURRENCIES
The introduction of Tron within the Steemit walletis an illustration of how community-driven crypto applications can quickly outgrow a single blockchain. This is only realistically possible on nimble blockchain technologies such as DPoS. And of course, coordinated nimble minds,with the foresight and capacity for change (e.g.renaming Steem Monsters to Splinterlands), is a prerequisite as well.
The latter may arise from a tendency of like minds to gravitate toward like technologies.
Recognizing Opportunity and the Power of Cross-Chain Applications
For those who recently joined Steemit and/or Hive,the renaming of Splinterlands wasn’t motivated by THE FORK. The team recognized the need for an independent identity long before.
Today, Splinterlands NFTs can be migrated over to the WAX blockchain. Simply amazing how much transpired over such a short time. While new projects aggressively populate the blockchain industry, rapid conceptual pivots of non-DPoS projects are uncommon.
Non-DPoS blockchains prove frustratingly slow in altering their course. Real issues limit applications of ‘heavy’ blockchain technology. On Ethereum, high fees area key constraint. On older PoW systems it’s infrastructure.Even most new blockchain technologies don’t maintain the pace of DPoS systems.
Motivation
NFTs crossing over blockchains is a key motivator behind this three-part article series entitled NFTs Beyond Maximalism. Notice how this endeavor (detailed atthe end) is mirrored across the WAX and EOS blockchains. They were chosen because of the ease of switching between them on Atomic Hub. Other projects have already used Atomic Hub for cross-chain mirroring.
Beyond Native Currencies
Further examination of multi-chain projects, like Uplift and R-planet, makes clear that the future of NFTs is integration.
R-planet itself is an entanglement phenomenon. It already allows for the staking of NFT projects by yielding a unique cryptocurrency (Aether). Similarly, Uplift's Uplitium drips will expand upon NFTs and their native currencies.
Community Entanglement Theory
An increasing number of projects are moving toward a multi-crypto dynamic. Community entanglement phenomena appears to be the result. CET, Community Entanglement Theory, was overviewed in Part 1 of the Beyond Maximalism series. Its relevance here can beseen as NFTs drawing interest across blockchains WITHOUT consumers leaving the comfort of their chosen environment. Atomic Hub’s migration capacity is as good an illustration as any.

Imagine possessing a membership card (e.g.CryptoFinney, YoshiDrops, or an Uplift passport) that introduces you to not only several cryptocurrencies, but alsoto culturally diverse communities. Imagine rewards beyond staking yields. NFT collections making on-the-fly adjustments across blockchains that connect consumers with their needs and interests is not a far off concept.
Maybe you feel these concepts are a bit out of reach given your present crypto experience, especially over the near term.
