Nail Horn deer or also called as Menjangan Simbar is a group of epiphytic nail plants that often used as an ornamental plant. The horns of Deer or the Enchanted Simbar are grouped in the genus Platycerium, consisting of about 18 species. Indonesia, has at least 5 types of native deer horns of Indonesia.
The plant of the Polypodiaceae family has a unique leaf shape resembling deer antlers. Therefore in Indonesia this epiphytic ornamental plant is widely known by the name of the Deer deer or Simbar Menjangan Paku. The name of this plant genus, Platycerium, also comes from the Greek word "platy" which means width and "ceras" meaning horn.
