PlatON Monthly Report is a well detailed writeup underlining every new and updated feature that took place during the previous month, from what is feasible to the eyes to what can be seen within the codes, meaning every event related to PlatON Network, from technological progress to community events.
On Dec 1st, the month report for November was published and heading the report was modification that was made on PlatON v.1.5.1 which reads,
PlatON version 1.5.1 underwent modifications to snapshotdb, enabling historical data storage to support trace functionality. Several issues related to trace have been fixed.
For those not familiar with the technicality that might be written above, let's break it further down a bit.
Snapshotdb basically has to do with data capturing over a period of time, which can act as a form of drawback or reminder if for any reason one would like to take a preview on what happened on the said date on how a data was changed, updated, or edited. Snapshotdb comes in a play and it's one feature every chain needs to have. The modification further went on to provide support for trace functionality, another term that might be a little confusing.
Trace functionality, it briefs you on series of events that took place orderly, from what was to how it presently is.
The modification is one that will give better accountability, well detailed summary of past events and also a good work flow on what needs to be done and probably ease to carry out next step.
November doesn't end here and subsequent post might be made on this to give better review of what happened or breakdown on some terms for those who might find it a little bit difficult to understand.
