Beginner Guide for Block Horse Racing

Hello Gamers, this will be a guide to get you started in Block Horse Racing. I am still new myself to the game and will share with you all what I have learned so far to get you started. Please read the WP thoroughly because I did not include or cover everything, just the basics to get started. There is a lot to cover and still more to come, so get ready!

I found BHR while scrolling through PeakD looking for new games on HE. The name says it all, you race your Horse NFTs. You pay a fee to enter the race and get paid out prize money(Gamble at your own risk). Collect, train and breed(TDB) your horse to race and win more prizes. As any new gamer I was confused where to start. I looked at the WP and understood a bit and then joined the discord to find out more information. After reading this, you should have a better understanding of how to get started with racing and playing the game.

Signing Up

On the main screen you should see the Tabs: Presale, Market, Race Results & Dashboard. You will also find access to the White Paper, discord and to change the language from English to Spanish.

Presale: Where you can buy Horse NFTs
Market: Purchase and Sell NFTs(so far only food and items)
Race Results: View race results
Dashboard: View your Horse NFTs, Items & Chests

Horses (NFTs)

Horses have 3 attributes: Speed, Endurance & Agility. These stats vary with the rarity of your horse. You can join any race with any rarity of horse and still have a chance to win. The odds of the race are determined by stats, HP and a little RNG. Below are the prices of the different horses you can get. Currently you can get Male and Female horses but the breeding feature is not out yet, that is TBD.

Common Horse: $7.50 USD (Stats between 65 and 150)
Uncommon Horse: $15 USD (Stats between 85 and 155)
Rare Horse: $25 USD (Stats between 120 and 165)
Spectral Horse: $40 USD (Stats between 135 and 175)
Epic Horse: $75 USD (Stats between 150 and 180)
Mythic Horse: $90 USD (Stats between 160 and 190)
Legendary Horse: $125 USD (Stats between 175 and 200)

The game takes a variety of tokens for payment. These include as of today: swap.Hive, HIVE, HBD, BUDS, SOULS, HUESO, KOD, SPS, DEC, STARBITS & WOO.

It's also important to consider the number of races or uses during the NFT's lifespan. This will depend on its rarity:

Legendary: uses between 1000 and 3000; lifespan between 1000 and 5000 days

Mythical: uses between 1000 and 2500; lifespan between 1000 and 4000 days

Epic: uses between 1000 and 2000; lifespan between 1000 and 3000 days

Spectral: uses between 800 and 2000; lifespan between 1000 and 2000 days

Rare: uses between 700 and 1800; lifespan between 800 and 2000 days

Uncommon: uses between 700 and 1500; lifespan between 500 and 2000 days

Common: uses between 500 and 1200; lifespan between 500 and 1500 days

Once you have purchased a horse PLEASE be patient for it to get to your account. I would also recommend sending Ihalangel a message on discord after purchasing a horse so that he can make sure everything is going through. Feel free to also reach out to me and i will do my best to help out.

Each horse you own earns you BHRT daily. Every horse, regardless of rarity, earns you 30 BHRT. You can add to those rewards, From White Paper, {To add to the basic mining rewards, each NFT in Block Horse Racing also possesses the potential to increase the number of tokens earned. This increase in tokens is determined by the rarity of the NFT and the training it has undergone. Each rarity level offers a unique bonus, so the rarer and better trained your NFT, the more tokens you can earn.}

Furthermore, it is crucial to highlight that only horses that have been fed with either hay or alfalfa are eligible to receive the mining token. We will go over feeding and training next.

There is a Halloween special raffle going on right now. You will get raffle tickets by buying horses in the month of October. Common horse =1 ticket, Uncommon 2 tickets, Rare 3 tickets so on and so forth. For every 3 horses sold, a Halloween Special NFT will be added the drawing. This NFT will give the horse 700 points randomly across its stats. This NFT is limited to 50 uses, after that, you can sell it and it will get regenerated so the next player can use it. So far I have purchased 3 horses(4 tickets) so there is 1 NFT currently in the drawing. I plan on buying another horse before the event ends to get more raffle tickets.

Feeding
There are feeding seasons in this game that last anywhere from 7-10 days and it random. Every food item you give to the horse will last until the end of the season. The earlier in the season the more you will get out of your food. Food gives you additional HP.

The main food you have to feed your horse is Hay or Alfalfa NFTs, without one of these, you cannot give them treats or earn BHRT daily. Once you have fed them their main food, you can feed them Apple and Carrot NFTs and also apply other objects. You can get these items two different ways, by buying them on the market or buying and opening chests. Just be aware of the market prices, sometimes it is better to open up chests. We will go over chests later on.

To feed your horse you need to go to the Dashboard tab. Then you click on the horseshoe on the bottom right corner of your horse NFT you want to feed. A screen will pop up with 3 buttons on the bottom: Feed, Tacks, Train. Click on FEED, then click on the drop down tab and select the NFT you want to feed it. With your horses fed you are now ready to race.

Hay: +50 HP
Alfalfa: +80 HP
Carrot: +40 HP
Apple: +60 HP

Other Items: ? i have not purchased or used those yet but they add additional points as well

Racing
To race you will need different currencies depending on the race. Some require BHR, BHRT, HUESO, BUDS, etc. Go to the Dashboard tab and click on the middle button(person riding horse) of the horse NFT you want to enter in a race. Then enter a race you want to join. All races have 8 participants and will not start until 8 players have entered. All places win prizes!!! 8th place gets free training and special chest fragments 😃

After a race has finished you can see the results on the Race Results tab. Click on the race number you were in and you will see how you did. To check the prizes you won, check hive explorer and you can see what tokens you received. Resting will differ depending on the where you place.

Also a very important part after you finish a race is to TRAIN your horse. Training only becomes available after you finish a race.

Training
In order to train your horse you have to enter races. Once you finish a race you can then train your horse. Training is directly associated to the race you enter. The more BHR is offered as a prize, the better the training opportunity will be for the horse.

Training cost BHR every time. Training is not required but is recommended. It can build Speed and Endurance(mining) to your horse by a random amount. The only way to get free training is if you finish last(8th place) in a race.

To train, you need to be on the Dashboard tab. Then click on the horseshoe of the Horse NFT you want to train. Then click on the Train tab on the bottom right corner when the pop up comes up.

Chests
To access chests go to the Dashboard tab and click on the Apple icon for Chests

To view Magical Chests click on this icon

Special chests are on the main Dashboard screen and show you how many you have. You can also claim them from there.

There are 3 types of chests(different rarities) in the game that cost different amounts of tokens. Chests, Magical Chests and Special Chests. Every Chest and Magical Chest needs a key to open, only the Special Chests do not require keys to open. Check out the WP for pull rates and to see what else you can get in your chests.

Chests: Common $0.25 USD, Rare $0.75, Epic $1.25
Chest Keys: Common .375 BHR, Rare 1.125 BHR, Epic 1.875 BHR
Magical Chests: Common 1250 BHRT, Rare 3750 BHRT, Epic 6250 BHRT
Magical Keys: Common .1 BHR, Rare .3 BHR, Epic .5 BHR

Special Chests: Prize for 8th place(bigger race, more chests) or win in raffles or events.
