I had a Three Tune Tuesday in mind for this week after I found a singer while I was researching Three Tune Tuesday but I will keep Henning Mai for next week. Any German on Hive will know who this guy is or as my German friend likes to call him "A talented George Ezra.
But when I found out the news that Win Butler was leaving Arcade Fire then I had to change my Three Tunes in honour of this great band. Arcade Fire. But how can Win Butler leave. He bloody is Arcade Fire. Well it leaves 6 other band members who can play around 160 instruments but it just won't be the same.
I spent my 20's listening to Arcade Fire and I am a fan of all their albums bar the last one which was somewhat of a let down. However their new single off their new album which will be released soon is rather good. Here it is below.

We won't include this in our three tunes though until it grows on me more.

Afterlife

My favourite song by a mile. I just love it. There is a very famous singer on backing vocals on this song?? Any guesses to who it is? I think he was credited on their album also. It's a long one this but it's a great. I find the song very powerful for some reason. As I said to Boom last week. I bloody love a good sad song. But I wouldn't say this is sad as such. I don't really know how to describe it. The backing is just brilliant and it makes me happy to know that the guy I asked the question about thought the song was so good that he just did backing vocals. He was originally meant to do backing on Reflector which he did but he did Afterlife as well.

The Well and the Lighthouse.

I love this song because of Regine Cassagne. She sounds like some kind of mystical elf from Lord of the Rings. I was big into this song when I was 24. I was lying on a beach in Ayia Napa with all my friends, the sun was shining, we were having a great time. Bikini clad models all around us. The hangover had subsided. My friend asked the question if anyone anywhere in the world right now was having more fun than us. I was laughing at what he just said. It was just the perfect day. I put on the headphones and listened to this song and life during that 3 minutes could not get any better. So the Well and the Lighthouse will always have a place in my heart.

Antichrist Television News.
The third song is the song directly after it. Whether it just played after that beach moment I do not know but it is another one of my favourites. I always like this song live because it is one of those songs that everyone loves at them.

I have seen Arcade Fire in Ireland a good few times but I once went to them and The Pixies which proved to be one of my favourite ever concerts. I decided I would bring my Italian friend for a different experience as Antonio is slightly unhinged and proved to be perfect company at a concert. I could really leave myself go and some of the Irish fraternity were a bit wooden.
I made a Steem post about Antonio back in the day. His girlfriend told me the funniest story. He loved U2 so much that it was the reason he moved to Ireland. So he booked tickets to a U2 concert in Ireland as a holiday. When he got off the plane he was planning on travelling to Bono's house in Dalkey to meet him and have a chat. Now this guy is stone cold nuts. So he got the bus into the city centre in Dublin. As he was crossing the Ha'penny bridge between O Connell Street and Templebar, who was walking towards him on the bridge.

Mutha fucking Bono

So he did what every normal Italian did. Cry uncontrollably on Bono's shoulder which muttering "Madre dio". Bono was nice to him and he gave him a photo and an autograph to which he cherishes to this day. After the meeting Antonio told his dad he was staying in Ireland forever and after 15 years he is still here and he is getting married to a Derry girl. Isn't that just the best.

He got his photo taken with another famous dude recently but not sure if he was happy about it. Height of Covid as well.

HAHAHA.

Well that's it for my three tune Tuesday. Hopefully Win changes his mind and goes back to the band. Thanks to the hostess with the mostess @ablaze for launching this great excuse to push my music on strangers. It's kind of a kink of mine. I'l buy ya a pint in Galway soon!

Ah yes Arcade Fire, I was wondering when you'd have a post on them. I hadn't heard about Win Butler leaving, that's a shity buzz to be sure.

It's great to hear a new song from them, and this is a grower, really looking forward to the album dropping.

I like all of their albums, even the last one. Are you referring to Everything Now? If pushed to it, I'd probably say Funeral is still my favourite album of theres.

Man, I love the story about Antonio, sounds like a pure character and bumping into Bono then on Haypenny bridge, feckin priceless! 🤣🤣

Yeah Antonio is as mad as a brush. haha. Shame about Win alright. Yeah I wasn't that enamoured with Everything Now. A couple of good songs but wasn't as up there with the rest.

Ya I thought the same when I listened to it first, but it grew on me. I especially liked Everything Now and Creature Comfort, but outside of those two, no others stand out like on other albums, so I take your point.

Saw them at the Manchester Arena must have been 10 years ago or more shortly after Neon Bible came out I think. One of the best gigs I’ve ever attended.

Is Bowie on the backing vocals of Afterlife? I knew he was on Reflektor.

On the same album, I’ve always liked the track It’s Never Over.

Yeah Neon Bible was their best album I reckon followed by the Subarbs. That It's Never Over is quality. Rumour has it he was on both songs.

Love the story about Antonio - he sounds like a legend! 😎😂

I'd be bringing out the knights armour plating everything I went out with that guy. He would get into a fight in a convent.

Dam bro, i havent said whats up for a minute. I had meant to try and join you for a Triple T, but im working like a robot. Days just zooming. Although, ive been challenging myself to do a post a day anyway. This next one for sure.

I have rocked some Arcade Fire in the past, but dam Antichrist TV song is a banger. Got like 10 instruments up there!

Hey Quackman. Great to hear from you buddy. You always brighten up my day. I had a mad one. Flying to France tonight for the weekend so all good now. Better to be working than sitting on your ass man. Hope all is well.
