Baby steps have their place, especially when starting from zero. However, celebrations should be reserved for milestones which are reached. By the time we reach a milestone-- 5,280 feet between them, or 1,609 meters-- we should be able to reach future milestones faster (either with speed or larger strides or both). It can take a long time to celebrate 5,280 times, or even just 1,609 times.

Exactly! You get it! I love it. There's an internal celebration and there's announcing it to everyone you know and on social media LOL. But all milestones are great, especially when you've done nothing but couch surf for years (like I did a long time ago). Thank you for your thoughts. I always appreciate your comments ❤️❤️❤️

We need to recognize all the achievements we make. That doesn't mean we publicize them all to everyone all the time. Many we recognize privately because they are important to us internally. The major milestones can be celebrated because they represent breakthroughs or things people would genuinely care about.

Unless it's the first one, celebrating a wild card berth for the playoffs isn't a good idea and can backfire. Save the milestone celebration for the Stanley Cup parade or a World Series parade.
