Ontario Provincial Police are warning businesses of some counterfeit toonies that were found at a store in Hawkesbury.
Officers were called to the store on Regent Street at around 11 a.m. Tuesday because someone had used counterfeit coins to buy things.
A photo shared by police shows the coins have the same coloration as real toonies, but a cursory glance reveals they're anything but. They have a walrus on one side instead of a polar bear, and are stamped as being worth "Z DOLLARD". The image purporting to be of Queen Elizabeth II is also incorrect. It appears to be a grumpy old man. The coins are also dated 1990, when the first real toonies weren't in circulation until 1996.
Ha ha … a walrus. I would not even notice.
The CAD is worthless to begin with.
Can't wait for our new low to correct for Trudeaus printing that still hasn't come.
Before pandemic the Canadian dollar had to hit under $0.60 American for a decent amount of time to begin a recover.
The US is only inflated 10%, we have over 50% "Justinflation"....
We likely need to have our dollar trading under $0.40 USD to begin our economy recovery without the great shitset.
These rare toonies will be worth several million dollars a piece. I’m hoping to collect several of them…
Lol OK, good luck with that.
A couple million with what adjusted number to calculate for the loss of inflation?
The inflation no one seems to acknowledge or care about.
Who even cares about inflation when you’re earning VYB, POB, WAIV, Cent and Blurt !
Yeah I know EH
Stack it into finite supply coins and they will resist the interest
