Nice work, a rich and refreshingly uncluttered poem.
I'm new to your blog so I don't know the history behind your author's notes - but I have to say as a new reader it's a little bit off-putting. Part of the joy of poetry is that it presents us with an image (or set of images), without comment, and allows the reader to interpret the meaning on the strength of the words themselves.
Just my 2 cents! A great read nonetheless.
