POEM: The Shapes Are Not Related

A search for you
In a gambler’s purse
In a sub-sea cave
In a cat purr

I didn’t know
What pushed me hard
To empty treasures
The whitespace cards

For love was why
I couldn’t fill
The missing space
The unclaimed will

And I would go
For an easy fix
Screen swipe syringe
An imagined kiss

To places wishing
Coins kept their promise
To return a stolen heart
For prayer deposits

You were there
In the bleachers shone
My aura skewed
I loved your tone

To fish out my heart
And harmonize
Wind scandalized hair
With roam laden eyes

On pearl hooked air
I embraced what came
Our cumulus sands
Rolled gem rains

In my walk
You saw my prayer
Talking to Spirit
And she knew you were there

I carry you near
When my stayed steps
Roam with my home
Where none can betray

My love, my darling angel
My dawn dusk star
Your fair heart
Packs cosmic cars

My missing person
My soul, your presence
Fills and overflows
With cherished essence

My dear
If ever we are
To be nearer I’d ask
For warning so I can prepare
