THE COCKROACH

As darkness does fall
The creepies do crawl
Out of the cupboards
And all up the wall.
All over the floor
Yes, it’s true what they say
For each one you see
There’s a million more.

Two long antennae
And six little legs
A flat little body
They lay lots of eggs.

Some people abhor them
With a morbid fear
If to their body
They get too near.
Don’t worry, don’t fret
Just turn on the light
To darkness again
They scatter from sight.

Yes, some species are pests
Spreading bad germs
Some wish to destroy nests
Calling pesticide firms.
But not all cockroaches are bad
Some are endangered
And that is quite sad.
Some people keep them as exotic pets
The Hissing roach – as big as it gets.

They’ve been used in space tests
And eaten at best.
They can crawl in your ear
While you are at rest.

Now don’t worry, don’t fret
They are not that big of a threat.
There are many things that are much worse,
We can find out what in a later verse.

Of most people are disgusted to see this one animal. Especially when he's flying toward us

That's right. Most people are disgusted by the cockroach. You do want to run or shoo it when you see it coming toward you.

I'll kick it out or turn it off 😀

@sourcherry The poem is beautiful just like the cucurachas 😄

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.
