They’re as beautiful as the stars in the sky, yet here on earth. And they’re together and you realize, if there’s such a thing as eternal love, it’s this wildfire inside of them. It’s not physical between them, it’s so much more, it’s like their souls have found a way to defy the gods and dance together until the end of time. It feels like they’ve never been hurt before and it gives you chills, thinking of this love you’ve never had.
They shine with such power, you’d say the sun lives in their bones, where once was darkness. You’d mistake them for best friends if you couldn’t see how their eyes dance together, the way they hold hands just a bit too tight, how their lips feel empty when not together. They love doesn’t need words, yet their whispers are many and all of love. They say to each other what nobody will again.
How could they be so perfect, how were they so alike, yet different people? One soul, one heart, and that eternal love inhabiting two bodies. It felt like they were immortal, an angel and a demon. Were they blind? Didn’t they see the thunder when their eyes met, the thunder in his voice when whispering hidden words in her ear? Didn’t they look into her eyes to see how she saw in him a god, a reason to live and die?
The story behind the words:
This one was written thinking of my first love and the way we felt together, like we could take on the world and win. It felt like we were living among the gods, like we could be forever. But it also brings back memories of how we lost each other, like two fools on a stage. The way we'll never find each other again, how utterly blind we were in throwing it all away.
