I actually tried to join chat the other day. I understand it requires the creation of a new password, but whenever I try to register it says, user not found or incorrect password. I found links saying that many others where having the same problem.
I might be wrong, but it sounds like you tried to sign in before registering. When you go to https://steemit.chat click "Register a new account" if that doesn't work let me know.
Well I'm getting there, but when I register it says my email already exists, do I have to use a separate email for chat?
No, steemit.chat and steemit are separate things. So your user information on the chat is its own unique thing.
