The Grove

in #poetry7 years ago

He led them over the ravine of the Kidron
On a hill of presses in a gardens grove

As He wept the angels comfort did not hinder
The Deep grief to the point of death that cut into His heart
Blood dripping from His brow

A sorrow filled night but not for the three
Stay and keep watch with me is all he required
as He searched for another way

As they slept His sorrows and anguish they were not aware
Their prayers not for Him were to keep them from falling

The emotions of the day attending His last meal
left them empty and filled with questions unanswered
about His departure and how to find Him again

The leaders of the twelve their eyes not yet opened
not understanding the power through obedience that the I Am
was about to unleash upon His creation
to pay the ransom of the stolen jewels

Mere humans were about to be made Divine
His righteousness about to flow from a tree from where he would hang
To freely cover all that believed His Words as mornings dew covers the grass

His death thought a triumph was the sealing of darkness fate
The victory won on bended knee in The Grove

The King arose with The Keys once lost
That opened the door for His chosen to be with Him forevermore
