Poem - Scotland

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

Seven hours
Winding roads
Mother mountain
Guide us home
To the highlands
Where our souls long

Piercing wind
Take me back
To the scenes
Surreal and wild
Father earth
Sings for you
Mother nature
Dances for you
Scotland

Scotland
Your beauty knows no bound
Scotland
Pure as the winter’s first snowfall
Like a virgin
Untouched
Your Lochs hide secrets
Millenniums old
Your cities speak of
Civilisations rise and fall
Of ages golden
And of ages dark

We shall miss you
Scotland
Your beauty
Mesmerising
We shall think of you
On our winding journey
Hoping one day
The roads will take us back to you
