Hope for Africa: When the choosen one is unveiled (Original Poem by @jiossm)

in #poetry6 years ago

Africa, a land of the fortunate,
With golden soil bringing forth grace,
And streams quenching thirsts of slavery,
We lay black and mighty,
Black in flesh, yet pure at heart.

Our land flows with milk and honey,
A land promised of us by our ancestors,
It approaches speedily along with the chosen one.
Who with him is a sword and a weighing balance,
His face shines with hope and his heart with justice.

When he shall trod upon our golden land,
With the ebony blood of our ancestor’s promise,
The healing balm shall flow as the great streams.
And the hope of our people shall be displayed bright,
Brighter than the sun of the lands and oceans.

There is hope for a tree which is cut retarded,
Though it be degraded now among it fellows,
It shall spring fort out of the soil in due time.
We shall merry because we have hope,
And believe in the days ahead.

He shall stand upon the highest mountain of Africa,
On his stallion with a trumpet shall the chosen one declare,
Liberty and grace, and truth, and life, and joy,
Everlasting to the inhabitants of the golden land,
And to those with the blood of the chosen one.

And in that day even in our prime and beauty,
We shall blossom with our ancestor moving back,
Back to lay to rest everlasting in their beds,
Their children are now liberated,
And the battle is over.

I wrote this poem with the love of Africa in my heart, and hoping that someday shall shine and be brought out of its darkness. We may dark skinned but our blood is pure and fresh and holy. We may lack knowledge but this is a requirement for love which emanates gracefully from the heart. Like I said, there is hope for a tree which is cut retarded, and may be burnt, with its root in the soil, it has hope of someday rejuvenating and erupting into a great and mighty tree. Though a mahogany be little among the cassava trees at birth, it is a pontential dominator which all grasses shall look upon very soon. Never judge a book by its cover, I believe in Nigeria, I believe in Africa and the entire Human race.

Thank you
