Manaia : "O' Great Grandsire" - Hehu's Prayer

in #poetry5 years ago (edited)

The following is a common prayer and song used ubiquitously throughout Sobanite churches and often recited by followers of the faith before meals.

O' Great Grand Sire
Whom there is none higher
Hallowed be Thy name

Praise be to Thy power
For Thou showeth every hour
Manaia, be Thy domain

Forgive us we are blind
Weak of body and of mind
Lowlings, in sight of Thee

Yet Thy will we doeth still
By Thy command we love and kill
What Thou wish for, it shall be

For Thy desire, it is known
We shall reap what we have sown
And our triumphs, be not our own

When we do sin, we sin alone
But we do good 'cause Thou hast shown
Bless us Father from Thy high and mighty throne
