Love don't cost a thing

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to be condemned.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be polite.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confident.

If a child lives with fairness, he learns to justify
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself
If a child lives with acceptance, friendship, he learns to
FIND LOVE IN THE WORLD.

show them love, it cost nothing.

A song just came to my mind while writing this. Here is the lyrics....

Give love to the children
Show them that you care
Let the love come, from the bottom of your heart
Don't to you abuse them
Doesn't really matter where they come from
Give them a chance, a chance someday

@mimidiamond this is a LOVING, wisdom-packed article! It's impacting truth upon impacting truth! If you are parent and you raise or raised your kids with this attitude, they are getting the best a human parent can give to a child!

I have two children who are adults now! I learned much, mostly from mistakes. I know, from experience, children don't necessarily learn from what we say or even what we do, but rather "how we are", on the "inside" as we "do life" and living!! Are we free or fearful when we do life? Are we kind, tolerant, consistent? Do we mean what we say and say what we mean?

I enjoyed this post!

Children are very sensitive
If you want the best from them, be the best. They will always copy you. Just give them the chance to explore amidst teaching them the necessary things of life.

Just want to say that your post is very educative and touching! Parents should be very careful on how they behave around their children and how they treat them, because they are modelling a man's personality and psychology. Affectivity is the most important thing! ;)

Children are not only extensions of the parents but the future of humankind and our planet. I really liked your poem, you bring up a very important fact - they way they are treated and taught to think about themselves and others is what shapes their whole personality.

Yes. When you allow a child be him/herself, they will one out the best. Just be there to correct them when they go wrong. Imposing fear upon them wouldn't do the work. It will only get them naive and unable to stand there ground. Thanks for your comment

Great post! So true and maybe one aspect of our world that is lacking!

Don't abuse or insult kids, let them have a personality that's free of inferiority.

Good work @mimidiamond sounds like a philosophical research that is based on psychology, the World around children is only a product of what they become. Steemon!

Thank you

i feel so much pain when i see young children hawking, begging, no one to care or mould them. Our future and proof of existence lies on their shoulders. We are still too blind to see. Love really does make the world go round. I love how you used poetry to send out a letter, concerning the children.

Thank you so much for taking out time to read up.
