I am not a mother, God had not given me that joy, but I can imagine the joy and sadness that a father can feel in a moment. As a daughter, I believe that parents are our first angels; in this poem we see how the first stanza talks about what the father's role would be like if they were only gifts, details... it would be very easy. Father's Day is every day in the world. From the moment the child is born, the father no longer sleeps. He takes a back seat, the child is paramount. It would be easy if it was just the details, if it was just a dress that you can take off at the end of the day, or if you don't have your father's dress, say you're not going to wear it today, but tomorrow yes, or simply if you're tired, say you're not going to be or do it. Being a father is a job that God gives you and it's the one that sees your resume! We can't disappoint him. Nice night for you, @johnjgeddes
Thanks Nancy - You may not be a parent but you certainly understand the role. It would also be easy if the job was perfectly accomplished, but never is, and the best any parent can ask for at the end is compassion and forgiveness. We can do nothing perfectly, for we are imperfect
