RE: AN INTERVIEW WITH BEGINNING-TO-END

in #poetry8 years ago

Hello. We've met many times before, but this is like a deeper level intro :)
Great interview, your answers provide clarity to a lot of what seeps out through your poetry. The landscapes, the past, the use of words.

I like this quote:

He said write as simply as possible, there is no need for SAT words. He called chains of flowery modifiers “making necklaces for Cleopatra.”

I need to read more of his work. I have only briefly explored his writing, but his name has come up many times.

Sort:

Vonnegut is wonderful he's been a big influence on my writing.

It was the last minute thought to use the introduce yourself tag on this post, I thought that since it told so much about me it might be appropriate, at least I hope it was.

The tag was very appropriate. It fits, so to my thinking that is what it is there for. No problems there.

Do you have a favourite or recommended book from Vonnegut? Or should I just start anywhere?

Kilgore trout is a character that repeats through many of vonnegut's books he is a struggling science fiction writer and appears in one of the books that I like called God bless you mr. rosewater. The book Vonnegut is most known for however is Slaughterhouse-Five.
