At War with the Garden
is now off limits to you
among its life
proliferates
l'il things
a minute microcosm
counted in the exponential millions
their foregoers lived in kinship
with your ancient ancestors and mine
we've evolved together
found symbioses
and
a way to shut
an overrun, overstayed
garden party down
balance and change
is in everyone's interest
eons and epochs
gave us the ages
to hone cooperation
social intelligence
beef up the bouncers
once you were a David
on the scale of Goliath
you've become stunted
small and afeard
too frail for the little things
to depend on your protection
and the space to be
in your frailty
you have declared war
with the garden itself

It is always great to visit :)
This resonates with me only because of the humourous memories it invokes.
As a child - about a gazillion years ago - I had a cat. A white cat. A pure white cat with two different coloured eyes. Being a gazillion years ago, this cat may have been one of the first cats, or at least one of the first cats which domesticated themselves. Regardless, the cat is only half the story.
I also had a neighbour. Fenced yards. Chain link fence - his dogs would often climb their fence to play with me (and I may or may not have encouraged such behaviour). Regardless. The neighbour had a small greenhouse within which he grew his own marijuana.
Well, white cat once made it into the green house and ripped up six marijuana plants that were about ready for harvesting. Neighbour was none too happy. Cat was feeling goooood.
Good on the cat:)
Brillient! I'm a killer of tradition.
