untuk para pejuang kemandirian
aku suka saat kau menyebut kata mandiri
itu seperti induk ayam membiarkan anak-anaknya lari ke sana ke mari
mencari makanan sendiri-sendiri
aku suka saat kau menyebut kata mandiri
itu seperti kata-kata petinggi negeri
berjuang agar seluruh rakyat cinta produk dalam negeri
hingga mampu berdiri di atas kaki sendiri
dan bebas dari lilitan utang luar negeri
aku suka saat kau menyebut kata mandiri
meski orang kerap memplesetkannya sebagai mandi sendiri
tapi biarlah aku mandi sendiri:
jangan sampai orang lain repot memandikan tubuhku
kecuali setelah tiba ajaku
aku suka saat kau menyebut kata mandiri
walau harus kuakui:
pada waktunya nanti aku tak mampu mengubur tubuhku sendiri
